John L Bender, MBA, MD, FAAFP
Diplomat, American Board of Family Medicine President and CEO, Miramont Family Medicine
John L. Bender, M.D., FAAFP is a board-certified family medicine physician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the senior partner and Chief Executive Officer at Miramont Family Medicine based in Fort Collins Colorado. My approach to skin care and beauty is recognizing that vanity is different than self-confidence. A scar or weathered face may be distinctive, but can also be distracting. Aesthetics is part of a balanced lifestyle that complements a person’s spiritual, physical and behavioral health. Overall wellness includes daily skin care, skin hygiene, and ultraviolet protection from the sun’s damaging rays. This is not just to prevent age spots but also long-term goals such as the prevention of deadly skin cancers. Ultimately, aesthetics is an investment in yourself. I believe people are less likely to return to unhealthy and self-destructive lifestyles such as obesity, smoking and frowning when they’ve spent good money into reversing the effects of photoaging, skin creases, and the like.
For me personally, aesthetics is my reward for being healthy in other areas of life first. And I enjoy providing laser aesthetic services to patients because of the satisfaction and confidence it offers them. Aesthetics is not about vanity. It is about balancing, complementing and rewarding yourself for achievements you have made in your overall health and wellness. Ask me about all the new amazing technologies that we have here at Miramont MedSpa that can help you and your skin to feel rejuvenated and confident.
