Morpheus is a device that has two methods of action: microneedling and radiofrequency, which combine to create a powerful skin treatment tool. with Morpheus, this radiofrequency microneedling can be performed on the face, neck, chest or body. The device will stimulate collagen and elastin formation, which is what we want in our skin to prevent wrinkling and sagging. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less collagen, starting around our mid-20s, with a noticeable decline by our 40s and 50s, contributing to visible signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin.
The microneedles vary in depth from 1mm to 8mm depending on the results we want to see. Some of the benefits of this treatment include skin tightening, fat reduction, and skin resurfacing. After treatment, the skin may appear reddened or have “grid marks” on the face. There also may be some scabbing or skin sloughing, which usually resolves in a week for the face and slightly longer for the body. 30 days after treatment, new collagen will have formed, and it peaks at 60-90 days. We recommend a package of 3 treatments to get optimal results.
We take pre-treatment photos and have you return in 12 weeks for final photos. The treatment can be uncomfortable, so we usually start with a topical numbing cream, sometimes followed with lidocaine injections to get you numbed for the duration of the procedure. We ask that you don’t apply any skin products to the treatment area for at least 24 hours. Ideal candidates may have submental (under chin) fullness, acne with scarring, mild-to-moderate skin laxity on the face or body, visible pores, or fine lines.
