At Miramont MedSpa we offer Hand Peels by Glytone. Hand peels offer dramatic results after just one treatment. The process takes only 10 minutes, is comfortable, and you will see rejuvenated skin in just one week. For best results, repeat monthly until you get the desired outcome. Peeling usually begins 2-3 days after the peel is applied. Be sure to apply a rich hand cream during the peeling process to keep your skin soothed and moisturized (and try not to pick at the peeling skin!). It is important to wear hand cream with SPF daily to maintain your results and prevent future sun damage. A chemical peel is a skin-smoothing procedure that in which an exfoliating chemical is used to remove the top layer of skin. There are three categories of chemical peels based on how deeply the chemical permeates the skin. Each category can help with a variety of skin conditions. Dermatologist Tips for Pre & Post Treatment Care Pre-Treatment CLEANSE, EXFOLIATE AND TONE To minimize excess oil and remove dead skin cells to improve peel absorption. AVOID Facial scrubs, waxing, bleaching, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal and topical retinoids for at least 1 week before a chemical peel to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and scarring. Post-Treatment PROTECT AND HYDRATE Replenish the skin post-peel with moisture-rich sunscreen formulas with SPF 30 or higher. APPLY A protective ointment and/or ice packs to soothe the skin. AVOID Direct sun exposure, facial scrubs, abrasives, picking at the peeling skin, steam inhalation therapy, and exfoliating creams.
